Farewells have done
The open ocean
Stands at my feet.
Mine - to ride the waves
- or drown.
Many dawns in many lands,
Many eyes, waiting, watching.
Clouds and blue skies
Wars and peace.
Many troubles, mind and soul
And mine alone their help.
Servant to eternity
To follow my narrow track
Through mountains and palaces
Till the last sunset
Trusting in the timeless dawn
